Washer nozzles do not have a universal cross-reference the way oil filters do. Each nozzle number is tied to a specific housing shape and spray angle, so the only reliable rule is: match the OEM number exactly. You do not need to decode every character, but a few patterns are worth knowing:

What to do if your number is not here

Three options, in order:

Is there a universal washer nozzle cross-reference?

No. Unlike oil filters or spark plugs, washer nozzles are not cross-referenced by a shared standard. Fitment depends on housing shape, spray angle and mounting tab, which differ by model. Match the OEM number.

Can I use a nozzle from a different car if it looks the same?

Not reliably. Visually similar nozzles frequently have different internal angles, so the spray lands in the wrong place even though it clips in. Match the number.

What is the difference between 85321-26020 and 8532128020?

Both are Toyota/Lexus washer check valves. The formatting differs because Toyota used both across production years. Confirm against your original part.

Why do some numbers end in a letter?

A trailing letter indicates a revision or variant — for example 8K9955985 vs 8K9955985A. They are not always interchangeable, so include the letter when ordering.

My nozzle sprays but misses the windshield. Is it the wrong part?

Usually yes. A nozzle that sprays but aims wrong almost always has the wrong angle for that model. Confirm the number before trying to bend or adjust anything.
