Hood Support Rod & Hood Trim Clip Guide
Hood clips hold support rods, insulation panels, cowl trim and hood-mounted components. Match the correct retainer without substituting latch or safety components.

Hood trim and support clips are different from hood latch, striker and safety-catch components. Use these retainers only for the support rod, insulation, cowl trim and non-structural hood attachments. Do not substitute them for latch or safety parts.

How to identify the correct clip
- Read the OEM or interchange number.
- Check whether the clip snaps onto a rod, stud or panel slot.
- Measure stem length and head diameter.
- Confirm the material and locking direction.
- Check clearance when the hood closes.

Installation
Open and support the hood safely. Remove the old retainer without bending the rod or trim. Fit the new clip in the same orientation, engage the locking point and test the hood movement before closing it completely.

No. Latch, striker and safety-catch components are safety-related and require the specified part and torque.
